Ayla Black

Ayla provides research and policy advice across Humanitarian Advisory Group’s portfolio of work. Ayla has worked in India and Timor-Leste, where she worked on the development of gender policy and the implementation of human rights and sexual and gender-based violence programs. Ayla’s recent work includes conducting research on the localisation of humanitarian aid in the Pacific, research examining the status of women in humanitarian leadership, and researching and writing a chapter for the UNFPA’s 2016 State of World Population report. Ayla has studied Humanitarian Action at Sciences Po, Paris, and has a first-class Master of Gender and Development Studies.
