Nicole has fifteen years experience in the humanitarian and development sectors, working mainly with the United Nations at headquarters and at field duty stations in Timor-Leste, Kenya, Niger, Jerusalem and Haiti. During her time with the UN, Nicole worked in humanitarian policy, information and knowledge management as well as advocacy and communications with UNICEF, UNDP, OCHA and UNISDR. She has authored analyses of private sector engagement in humanitarian action in the Pacific region and evaluations of the 2010 Haiti earthquake response, country policy briefs on the activities of the UN Security Council, as well as conducted lessons learned on early recovery coordination.
Other recent work includes development of disaster risk profiles for the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management. Nicole has specific expertise in humanitarian policy development, research and analysis, corporate sustainability and private sector engagement in humanitarian action, and advocacy information and knowledge management. She has a Master of Arts in Professional Communication and is currently studying a Master of Business Administration.
