International Humanitarian Protection Training
We facilitate the Australian Red Cross’s International Humanitarian Protection Training. The two day course develops understanding and competencies on applying protection principles in humanitarian response, using case studies, group exercises and a short simulation.
The course is for all humanitarian practitioners working in disaster or conflict contexts. Key learning outcomes include the following:
- Define and describe protection and its role in the humanitarian context
- Mainstream protection principles into your emergency programming
- Better understand sexual exploitation and abuse, gender-based violence and child protection
- Respond safely and ethically to incidences of International Humanitarian Law violations and human rights abuses, within your role
The course is run several times throughout the year.
