Idha Kurniasih is passionate about contributing to the shift in the humanitarian sector towards a more locally-led, equitable partnership and people-centred approach. Having spent her ten years working as a local humanitarian worker, she has first-hand experience engaging in some initiatives in localising thematic humanitarian sectors such as child protection, shelter, camp coordination and management, and adaptive social protection. Her recent works include research on Organisations of Persons with Disabilities: Making a Difference in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands. Idha received an Australian Award Scholarship for a master’s degree in development studies from The University of Melbourne and a Short Term Award for Humanitarian Action.
