Liz brings a humble and analytical mindset, and a deep respect for lived experience, to complex policy and community challenges. A design, monitoring and evaluation specialist, Liz has spent her career working alongside communities, governments and organisations across Australia and the Asia–Pacific to understand what’s working, for whom, and why. She is particularly known for inclusive and accessible approaches, with a passion for powershifting, localisation and community led change.
Across all of this, Liz is driven by a belief that good design and evaluation should be useful, human and make sense to everyone involved- not just the people (like herself) who enjoy a well formatted and colour coded spreadsheet. Her work centres collaboration, cultural safety and practicality—producing insights that don’t just sit on shelves, but influence practice, policy and funding decisions. Her work at Global Sisters, which championed lived experience and accessible and interactive data, was the recipient of the 2022 SIMNA Social Innovation Award. Liz also holds a Master of Evaluation from the University of Melbourne.
Liz has worked across family violence, homelessness, justice, gender equity and social innovation, holding senior roles in government, consulting, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and the not-for-profit sector. Having worked at many levels across many systems she has become excellent at spotting patterns and identifying what keep systems working (or not working) as they do, and where and how they need to change.
Outside of work, Liz is a foster carer and deep in the season of small children, sticky hands, muddy shoes, and a rapidly expanding garden. She loves breathing fresh air and being outdoors in pretty much any capacity.
