Climate and risk reduction

Integrating climate action into crisis response

In a rapidly warming world, the most vulnerable people are increasingly at risk from disasters and extreme events.

HAG recognises that humanitarian and climate policies are intrinsically linked.

Every decision and action in a crisis, no matter how well-intentioned, has an impact on the environment and the communities where responders operate.

We support humanitarian actors to respond in ways that reduce environmental impact while strengthening effective crisis response.

By embedding climate awareness and greener practices before, during, and after disasters, we help ensure interventions alleviate suffering today, while reducing new risks for future generations.

Working alongside local partners, we combine environmental protection with better crisis response to protect both people and the communities they rely on.
