HAG supports the responsible adoption of emerging technologies – such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, blockchain, remote sensing, and digital tools – to improve humanitarian action and crisis response while mitigating risks.

Together with our partners, we explore how technology can improve anticipatory action, cash-based programming, community-led response and mutual aid, all while safeguarding privacy, equity and inclusion.

Through research and advisory work, HAG helps the humanitarian and emergency sectors integrate technology in ways that are ethical and based in local evidence and knowledge, ensuring innovation strengthens responses without creating new vulnerabilities for communities.
