The AHP has set up an Anticipatory Action Fund (AAF) trial with funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to leverage the partnerships and systems established under AHP’s Disaster READY program to conduct a trial of anticipatory action (AA) in Vanuatu, Timor-Leste, PNG and Solomon Islands.
Humanitarian Advisory Group (HAG) is providing real-time review and monitoring, evaluation and learning support for the AAF trial. HAG is supporting the AHPSU to identify lessons and share them with AHP partners in real time to progressively identify improvements and adaptations during the trial.
The purpose of this report is to document the systems and processes implemented for the preparatory stage of the AAF and what is working well and where opportunities exist for improvement and learning. In particular, the report focuses on capturing cross-country lessons from Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, PNG and Solomon Islands. Country-specific insights and examples are shared where available.
