Digital Frontline:Executive Summary
2025 marks 25 years since UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS). Yet, the intersection of gender and cybersecurity—especially in crisis-affected contexts—remains largely overlooked. None of the 10 UNSC resolutions on WPS mention cybersecurity, and Australia’s National Action Plan on WPS and Cyber Security Strategy barely address gendered cyber threats. WPS and cybersecurity integration represents both an important knowledge gap and opportunity. This report doesn’t explore all possible avenues of integration between WPS and cybersecurity. Instead, it maps out how the WPS Agenda can be applied to gendered disinformation and identifies key opportunities for integration.
