Jess brings research and advisory experience in a range of areas, including climate change and disaster risk reduction and localisation. In her time at HAG, Jess has led on the Beyond Barriers research initiative with World Vision Australia, looking at the challenges and opportunities of integrating CCA and DRR in the Pacific and developed the Greening the System research stream which focusses on supporting humanitarians to reduce negative environmental impacts. Jess has also worked with organisations on institutional and thematic strategy development, for example with the ICRC defining a vision and roadmap for diversity inclusion in ICRC operations,supporting RedR Australia’s development of a Localisation strategy and action plan and leading the Independent Institutional Review of the Pacific Community (SPC). Prior to her time at HAG, Jess worked in humanitarian response operations management in Africa and the Asia-Pacific for a range of agencies including NGOs, UN agencies and the Red Cross Movement. Jess holds a Bachelor of International Studies and a Master of International Crisis Management
