When she’s not judging our soft cheese cutting skills, Fanny is a Senior Leader with HAG. She brings over 13 years of research and field experience in the development, peace and humanitarian sectors; as well as a touch of French passion for counterpoint and creative ideas.
Prior to HAG, Fanny worked as a Researcher, M&E Advisor and Program Manager based in South-East-Asia and the Middle East. As a freelance consultant, she led on a number of independent evaluations and facilitated learning events and strategic reviews of country programs for non-profit organizations and other development agencies such as UNDP, The Asia Foundation, Care Int. and Search for Common Ground in Timor Leste; and Save the Children, Helvetas, and Care Int. in Laos. She also worked for Catholic Relief Services in several countries, including as the Project Manager of a Cash Emergency Assistance program in Iraq. Her first experience providing technical advisory and evaluation services to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade was under the Laos-Development Learning Facility initiative under the Australian Ambassy in Laos.
With HAG, Fanny has been leading on a diverse range of research, organisational strategic development, and M&E projects for various INGOs, DFAT Australia and UN agencies. As the lead of HAG’s Real-Time-Analysis Research Stream, Fanny thrives on exploring practical solutions to support actors on the ground to better respond and anticipate a range of trends and challenges in the sector. Highlights from Fanny’s work include several reports on the topics of cash assistance, disability inclusion, local leadership, and her continuous support to the design and monitoring of DFAT Australia’s humanitarian Package in Bangladesh-Myanmar (2020-26). Internally, Fanny also supports the strategic thinking behind HAG’s social purpose and ways to continuously improve our partnership practices with national researchers.
Recently seconded to the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, Fanny wishes to further HAG’s interest in connecting different perspectives, including between the Humanitarian and Peace sectors. This also resonates with her educational background as a Master Graduate in International Studies, Major in Peace and Conflict Resolution from the University of Queensland, Australia.
Fanny’s recent works include:
- A Thematic Review of Accountability to Affected Populations in AHP Activations and Disaster Ready
- Giving Rise to Rights: Barriers & Enablers to Participation of Persons with Disability in PNG
